Wand of Oaken Gall

Wand of Oak, Gall and steel.

This hand forged steel wand is quenched in oak gall and acorns. The acorn is the potential for the great and strong tree that is the oak and the gall is considered the seat of the soul or the will of the tree, as in the old world the gall bladder itself was the seat of the strength, soul and will of a being.

The steel wand is painstakingly textured and forged at the end of the handle is an acorn pommel. It is then polished and given a heat treatment patina, then waxed and oiled hot and polished again. The result is a wand of pure strength, fortitude, abundance and beauty.

We work with the philosophy of folk magic and alchemy in our blacksmithing of iron talismans, by in the quench lends its virtues to the iron when hot and fixes them within the iron philosophically as the quench crystallizes and takes the hot iron from being mutable to fixed. These are practices being rekindled by troll cunning forge.
