Botany of the Dead, Online Class Download

Botany of the dead is an 1 1/2 hour class based upon a forthcoming book of the same title and subject. The Botany of the dead class will cover the
subject of how plants of many different varieties are worked with in regards to mediating conflicts with spirits of the the deceased. A cross cultural and traditional investigation will take place during the class as we look at a large spectrum of human, plant, and spirit relationship’s.

Questions to be addressed…
Why how and why do plants have an impact on the dead?
If you were a disembodied spirit why would sage smoke drive you away?
How do you work with plants when dealing with the troublesome dead?

We will look at methods and preparations of working with plants for cleansing, exorcism, banishing, protection, invoking, and communicating with the dead and much much more.

The class may continue into two parts if more information is requested after the initial class.

Black smith and folk magic practitioner Marcus McCoy is a coorganizer of the Viridis Genii symposium, and is published in and co-editor Verdant Gnosis, as well as the progenitor of the bio-regional animism practice. He has studied with South American shamans, as well as having a degree in the transpersonal anthropology of magical plants from evergreen state college.

Marcus is himself a medium, and has been working in the field of spiritual cleansing for many years.
