If you are interested in doing a commission with Troll cunning forge, please fill out the form. We will consider all manner of work but please consider our current catalog of work to date and what we specialize in and do, especially aesthetically.
I am open to doing work outside of the scope of what I already do, but keep in mind it will likely be a learning process piece and you will be charged accordingly for shop time. The realm of metal work is infinite with infinite skills and knowledge to be learned over time to accomplish a particular piece of work and style of work, if your request is outside the scope of what I do currently, and something I would like to do, I will deeply consider, if not something I’m interested in doing I most likely won’t consider it.
Commissioned work is figured out by price according to the project, materials, and shop time, as well as design time.
If I do not have the materials they will need to be acquired and that can take time as well. Rare and bizarre quenches and magical materia can be a daunting task to acquire, if you want exotic materia in your project it is always easier for you to procure them previous to requesting a commission.
As much as I wish it wasn’t the case, I do not have a wizards hoard of exotic materia from around the world, and what I do have I’m not sharing, which I am sure you can appreciate.
Stone settings need to be within a specific size which can be discussed, and I only set stones at the end of knife pommels. No where else.
Hammers, swords, armor, tools, are not my specialty, I will consider all projects, but please become familiar with what I make and remember the golden rule with commissions, if you want a master piece ask the Smith to make what they would love to make, not what you would love them to make. If you hold to that rule you will have a treasure beyond comparison.
Also keep in mind if you are a Smith you can make it yourself, if you aren’t then let the Smith make it, there is a 900% tax on those that do not keep that in the forefront of their mind during a commission.
How long will it take for my project to be completed? The answer is no one knows… could take a year, could be a week. Commissions take the back row and are worked on between orders and projects that are required daily to keep Troll Cunning Forge alive and it’s fires hot.
Your project is important to us and will be completed as soon as we are able (because it will be a nagging thorn in my side until it is done, and no one wants that thorn removed more than I do) so please do not check in with us daily about it. We will give you updates, and there may very well be a line of clients ahead of you, so we will keep you informed about where you are in the queue as soon as we know!
